US Open 2011: Serena Williams routs Wozniacki in straight sets to reach final

Serena Williams is back in the US Open final after beating current world number one Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark in the semifinals. The American former no. 1 routed the Danish star in straight sets 6-2, 6-4. Williams has yet to lose a set in this tournament.

“I’m so happy,” Williams said.

“Especially with 9/11, to be an American and still in the tournament. I really want to play tomorrow on such a special day for America,” she added.

The 13-time Grand Slam champion will next face Samantha Stosur of Australia who beat surprise semifinalist Angelique Kerber in three sets.
