The 2011 Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions will feature two wildcard entrants – China’s Shuai Peng and Serbia’s Ana Ivanovic. The two tennis stars were granted the opportunity to participate at this year-end tournament which takes place in Bali, Indonesia after the WTA Tour Championships in Istanbul.
Six top-ranked players who won at least one International-level event this 2011 season but did not qualify at the WTA Championships will participate in this event.
Peng is currently ranked 16th in the world but has yet to win a title while Ivanovic is the defending champion of this event.
Expected to be part of the draw are Marion Bartoli, Andrea Petkovic, Sabine Lisicki, Roberta Vinci and Daniela Hantuchova. However, Bartoli still has a chance to be part of the WTA Tour Championships and if she does qualify, her slot will be given to another player.
