Andy Murray reigns supreme at PTT Thailand Open 2011

Great Britain’s Andy Murray denied American Donald Young’s hopes of getting his first career title at the PTT Thailand Open by winning the final 6-2, 6-0. Young reached an ATP-level final for the first time in his career, having ousted Gael Monfils of France in the semifinals.

In terms of the way I’m playing it’s very good to get off to a start like that on this stretch and hopefully I can continue that through Shanghai,” Murray said.

“It’s a very good start. Roger [Federer] always plays very well on the European indoor courts, so I’m sure I’m going to have to win a lot more matches if I want to finish No. 3. That’s the goal and I’ll keep working hard to give myself a shot at doing that,” he added.
The Bangkok title is Murray’s third win this season and 19th overall.
