Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska completed her run in Tokyo last week with a title win at the Toray Pan Pacific Open. The ninth seeded player beat fourth-seeded Vera Zvonareva of Russia 6-3, 6-2.
“I was a little bit nervous at the start, but I woke up after those first two games,” Radwanska said.
“I had some tough matches this week – and I was playing without a bye, so I had a lot of matches in a row – but I just kept trying my best. It was the finals so I tried not to think about it and fight until the end,” she added.
Radwanska’s chances of being part of the year-end Championships have strengthened with the title win.
The doubles title was won by Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond.
