2011 Paris Masters: Roger Federer reaches final for first time

For the first time in his career, 16-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer reached the final of the prestigious BNP Paribas Masters – Paris after dispatching Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic 6-4, 6-3 in Saturday’s semifinal match.

“I really played great today. I didn’t give Tomas much. I was able to play aggressive and serve good, so overall it was a wonderful performance,” Federer said.

“I just felt like I was reading his serve, I was playing well from the baseline,” the Swiss star added.

Federer will play either unseeded American John Isner or sixth-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the final which will take place on Sunday. The Swiss former number one won his 68th career title in his home tournament in Basel last week and will now gun for his 69th on Sunday.
