Murray Eager To Bounce Back

Andy Murray returns to action in the Dubai Duty Free Championships this week hoping to hit back after his Australian Open disappointment and he is determined to avoid another post Australian Open slump.

This time last year after being beaten by Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open final in straight sets, Murray lost three out of his four preceding matches.

This time round though, the world number four was beaten by the same man, Djokovic, in the semi final but he did put up much more of a fight before losing out in five sets to the world number one as the stan james review shows.

Murray sat out the Davis Cup to rest a back problem which will hopefully mean he will be fresh and fit on his comeback and he is eager to bounce back from is disappointment Down Under and make more of an impact in the coming Masters events in Indian Wells and Miami, having slumped out in the second round in both last year.

“From the French Open, I played very well last year and I just need to keep that consistency for the whole year, that’s really the plan.

“I played badly in Indian Wells and Miami after the Australian Open in the last couple of the years and that’s something I really want to try and avoid and if I can do that then hopefully I’ll get my ranking up.

“That’s one of the goals for this year to finish at number one, to do that you have to play well all year.

“You need to play well everywhere – Djokovic lost five or six matches last year so I can’t get away with just doing well in few tournaments.

Murray will be facing a strong field in Dubai as six of the world’s top eight head to Dubai, and Murray might just be looking out for another Djokovic in the tournament as Novak’s younger brother Marko Djokovic will be attracting plenty of attention in the competition, with the world 867 has been handed a wildcard for the ATP 500 event. Few are expecting the 20-year-old to challenge his brother for the title but he might just be worth a bwin free bet.
