Jennifer Capriati elected to International Tennis Hall of Fame

Former top-ranked player Jennifer Capriati has been elected to the International Tennis Hall of Fame, a distinction she fully deserved. Capriati burst into the tennis scene at a young age. She reached the French Open semifinals at the age of 14 and won the Olympic Singles Gold Medal in 1992 at the age of 16 where she beat Steffi Graf in the final.

Her career came to a halt in the nineties following off-court troubles but made a triumphant comeback in earlier 2000s. She won the Australian Open in 2001 and 2002 and the Roland Garros in 2001.

Capriati retired in 2004 with a career win-loss record of 430-176. She won 14 singles titles including the three aforementioned Grand Slam titles.
