French Open 2012 Women’s Singles Draw | Seeds

The women’s single draw at the 2012 Roland Garros has buzzed so much interest now that 13-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams is back and not just that, she’s considered a heavy favorite to win her second French Open title due to her impressive 17-match winning streak on claycourts this year. She won the tournament in Charleston and Madrid, including two wins at the Fed Cup. She also reached the semifinals of the Italian Open tournament last week to become part once more of the world’s top five players.

Snagging the top seeding is current world number one Victoria Azarenka followed by Maria Sharapova of Russia, who’s aiming to complete a career Grand Slam with a title win in Paris.

Defending champion Li Na of China has said that she’s not worried about defending her title. Last year, the Chinese tennis star made waves around the world after beating then defending champion Francesca Schiavone of Italy to make a mark in China.
