The 2012 Wimbledon Championships, scheduled to begin on June 25, is going to be an exciting battle for the world’s top three players – Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer as the trio have a shot in losing or reclaiming the top ranking after the two weeks of intense competition in this grasscourt Slam.
Djokovic, the world number one and the defending champion at Wimbledon, could lose the number one ranking to Rafael Nadal if the latter wins the title and he fails to reach the semifinals. Meanwhile, Federer could clinch the top ranking if he wins the Wimbledon title for the seventh time and Djokovic fails to reach the final.
With that said, everyone’s going to keep track on how these three great players fare at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships. Federer only has quarterfinal points to defend while Nadal has runner-up points to maintain while Djokovic needs to retain the Wimbledon title to assure that the top ranking remains uncontested.
