China’s Li Na sets sights for Olympics after Wimbledon second round loss

Li Na of China is now setting her sights for the upcoming London 2012 Olympic Games which will take place next month at the All England Club in Wimbledon after losing her second round match at the same venue on Wednesday.

The 11th seeded Chinese star lost the match to Romanian Sorana Cirstea in straight sets.

Li Na became a phenomenon in her home country after winning the Roland Garros title last year. However, since then she has failed to get past the fourth round of the succeeding Grand Slam tournaments.

“The next big one is the Olympics,” the world number 11 was quoted as saying

“I am looking forward to it. This is my last time to play for my country at the Olympics because I’m 30 already and you never know what will happen after four years. I really wish I can do well,” she added.

Li will be joined by Shuai Peng and Zheng Jie in their Olympics 2012 bid.
