No further disciplinary action for Nalbandian – ATP

The ATP has announced on Sunday that it will no longer give additional disciplinary action against Argentine tennis star David Nalbandian. This is in connection with a controversial incident that took place in the final of the AEGON Championships at Queen’s Club a week ago. Nalbandian defaulted from the title match after he unintentionally injured a linesman after kicking one of the advertising boards. Nalbandian was sanctioned with about $70,000 in prize money and he won’t be awarded with the runner-up points earned at the grasscourt event.

On its official website, ATP said that they’ve found Nalbandian’s actions to be unintentional and that the sanctions were already enough.

Nalbandian is slated to compete at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships.
