Roger Federer reaches Wimbledon 2012 third round with easy victory

World number three Roger Federer continued his quest for a record-tying seventh Wimbledon title after beating Italy’s Fabio Fognini 6-1, 6-3, 6-2 in the second round of competitions at the All England Club on Wednesday.

The match, held at the Centre Court, was also watched by Britain’s Prince Charles and his wife Camille, Duchess of Cornwall, who were both sitting at the Royal Box. Both players bowed to the royalty prior to the match. When the match started, Federer was back in business and dominated his opponent.

Federer simply dictated the match and wrapped up the victory in about an hour and 13 minutes.
