Sisters Serena and Venus Williams are slated to participate at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships Ladies’ Doubles event. This will be their first Grand Slam doubles tournament since 2010 where they were beaten at the 2010 Wimbledon quarterfinals. It was a successful doubles season for the sisters during that year – having won the Australian Open and Roland Garros doubles titles.
Serena and Venus have won the Wimbledon Ladies’ Doubles title four times, part of their 12 Grand Slam doubles trophies. Serena Williams have 13 Grand Slam singles titles while Venus Williams have 7 Grand Slam singles titles.
The Williams sisters are scheduled to play qualifiers Olga Savchuk of Ukraine and Vesna Dolonc of Serbia in the first round.
