Serena Williams continues bid for 14th Singles Slam at Wimbledon

Four-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams continued her dominating run at the grasscourt Slam event this week with an almost perfect performance on Thursday to beat Melinda Czink of Hungary 6-1, 6-4 in their second round match.

The American former world number won 37 of 44 points while serving and never faced a break point throughout the match. The 98th-ranked Hungarian attempted a comeback in the second set which paid off but not enough to force a decider.

Williams reached the fourth round last year in just her second tournament from a long layoff due to injury. She lost a close fourth round match against Marion Bartoli of France.
