The 2012 London Olympics Tennis Women’s Draw and Seedings have been announced with Victoria Azarenka of Belarus securing the top seeding followed by Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland, Maria Sharapova of Russia and Serena Williams of the United States completing the top four seeds.

For the first time since its reinstatement as an Olympic sport in 1988, the tennis competitions will take place in grasscourts – at the All England Club – which just concluded hosting the 2012 Wimbledon Championships with Serena Williams winning her fifth Wimbledon singles title and making her a heavy favorite to win her first singles gold in London. Williams already won two gold medals in doubles with older sister Venus. Venus Williams, also a five-time Wimbledon singles titlist, already won three gold medals in this sport – winning the singles gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the aforementioned two doubles gold with Serena.
The ladies’ doubles event is headed by Lisa Raymond and Liezl Huber of the United States.
