2012 Wimbledon: Azarenka dominates Ivanovic, drops only one game

World number two Victoria Azarenka progressed to the Wimbledon quarterfinals after winning her fourth round match against former top-ranked Ana Ivanovic, dropping just one game 6-1, 6-0. The match took place at the All England Club Centre Court.

Azarenka managed to convert five out of her seven break points and saved all three she faced against the Serbian star and wrapped up the match in a little more than an hour.

The match was briefly suspended during the first set with Azarenka up 4-1. The retractable roof was set in place over the Centre Court but that did not diminish the momentum of Azarenka who went on to dominate the lower-seeded opponent.

Azarenka is now the highest seeded left in the women’s draw after top-ranked Maria Sharapova was eliminated by Germany’s Sabine Lisicki in the fourth round.
