Bartoli admits feeling hurt for Olympics snub

World number ten Marion Bartoli of France said that she still gets emotionally affected for not being a part of the French team that will be competing for the 2012 London Olympics, stating that she knew that she won’t become part of the team for not meeting the requirements.

Bartoli was not chosen because she was not able to meet the requirements of participating in Fed Cup matches. It is widely known that she wanted her father-coach to be part of her team in FedCup matches but this is not granted by the French tennis federation and she opted not to participate instead.

In an interview with Tennis.com, the French tennis star said that “it will hurt when I see the players” participating at the Olympics. Her compatriot Alize Cornet was chosen to particpate instead.

Bartoli is the second-seeded player at the ongoing Bank of the West Classic. She was runner-up to Serena Williams to this tournament last year.
