Big Three Seal London Spots

Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal have all been confirmed as qualifiers for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals event in London.

Having secured his seventh Wimbledon title at the weekend, Federer moved back to number one in the world rankings, overtaking Djokovic.

The Swiss ace has now secured a spot in the end-of-season finale for the 11th successive year, and he will head to the O2 Arena to defend the title he has won for the last two years.

Federer will seek a seventh title at the event and, for that reason, is likely to be the favourite on Betfair going into the eight-man tournament.

Despite his shock second round exit to Lukas Rosol at Wimbledon, French Open champion, Nadal, has also secured his place at the O2 Arena for a sixth time.

Surprisingly, the Spaniard has never won the London event, although he did reach the final in 2010, when he lost to Federer in three sets.

Five places still remain for the season finale, with the players set to battle it out for the $770,000 first prize – with a total prize fund of $1.6m.

Andy Murray, who seems almost certain to book his place at the O2 in the near future, David Ferrer, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Tomas Berdych, and Mardy Fish made up the line-up last year.

The 2012 tournament will take place from November 5-12, with the final this year taking place on a Monday.

Meanwhile, Australian Open winner, Djokovic, qualifies for the sixth year in a row, as he looks for a repeat of his 2008 victory.

Elsewhere, Djokovic is the current favourite for the title in the US Open 2012 betting pages, closely followed by Nadal, Federer, and Murray.
