Rafael Nadal cancels exhibition match against Djokovic due to tendinitis

World number three Rafael Nadal has reportedly cancelled a scheduled exhibition match with Novak Djokovic of Serbia due to tendinitis of the knees.

Nadal said that his doctors recommended that he should rest for about two weeks due to this condition. This will make him ready to compete at the upcoming London Olympic Games which begins later this month.

The Nadal vs Djokovic exhibition match was scheduled to take place at the Santiago Bernabeu, home of the Real Madrid, on Saturday, July 14.

“I will now work on my rehab as well as taking some short holidays to resume my practice in 15 days,” Nadal said in a statement.
