Roger Federer might pass the Olympic flag-carrying duties to someone else

World number one Roger Federer said that he has not yet decided whether to accept an offer to be the flag bearer for Switzerland at the upcoming London 2012 Olympics, stating that he might give this honor to someone else.

Federer, who just won his seventh Wimbledon title on Sunday, has carried the Switzerland’s flag during the opening ceremonies in Beijing Olympics in 2008 and Athens Olympics in 2004.

Federer is aiming for a singles gold medal at the upcoming Olympics, one of the achievements that’s not yet realized. He already won the doubles gold medal in Beijing together with compatriot and friend Stanislas Wawrinka.

The Olympics 2012 tennis competitions begin on July 28, 2012.
