Defending champion Novak Djokovic is without a doubt the favorite to win his upcoming Wimbledon 2012 quarterfinal match against 31st-seed Florian Mayer of Germany. The reigning champion will have the confidence knowing that he had won their first and only meeting but there’s always a lot of surprises at the All England Club especially with the shock elimination of his rival Rafael Nadal early last week. If Mayer has that self belief that he can do what Lukas Rosol did to upset a five-time finalist and two-time Wimbledon winner like Nadal, then we might see another headline-grabbing event. However, analysts and tennis gurus are anticipating a Djokovic victory in straight sets.
