Czech Republic’s Petra Kvitova has had problems playing during the North American hardcourt events due to her asthma but that’s probably already a thing of the past after having dominated this stretch and being rewarded the top honors of the 2012 Emirates Airline US Open 2012 Series.
Kvitova won the prestigious Rogers Cup title earlier this month and reached the semifinals of the Cincinnati Open. She then won the New Haven Open in Yale to secure the top ranking of the series. This means that the Czech star will have a chance to earn up to $2.9 million in cash prize money should she win the US Open Women’s Singles title. The US Open 2012 tournament begins on August 27.
