World number one Roger Federer is the top seed of the 2012 US Open Tennis Championships, thanks to his title victory at the Cincinnati Masters tournament. Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, the defending champion, is the second seed, followed by Andy Murray as the third seed. Spain’s Rafael Nadal pulled out of the tournament due to lingering knee injury.
