The Federer vs Del Potro London 2012 Men’s Singles Semifinal Match will take place today, August 3, 2012 at the All England Club, the venue of the Wimbledon Championships. The winner of the Federer vs Del Potro match will progress to the Olympic Gold Medal match and will face the winner of the Djokovic vs Murray semifinal match which will also take place within the same day.
Top-ranked Roger Federer of Switzerland is aiming to emulate the feat made by Andre Agassi and Rafael Nadal as the only male tennis players to achieve the Career Golden Slam. Federer already won a gold at the Olympics – at the 2008 Beijing Games in the doubles category but failed to defend the title this year.
Federer has a lead against Del Potro of Argentina with 12-2 head-to-head lead but Del Potro can be a dangerous player. The Argentine became the only player outside of the world’s current top three to win a Grand Slam – at the US Open in 2009.
