The season-ending TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships takes place this week in Istanbul, Turkey. The city will play host of this event for three consecutive years starting a year ago until next year. The event features the top eight singles players and top four doubles teams for the 2012 season. There will be alternates standing by in case of qualified players withdrawing from the event.
