Spanish 10th seed Nicolas Almagro reached the Australian Open fourth round for the fourth consecutive year after he defeated Poland’s Jerzy Janowicz in straight sets 7-6, 7-6, 6-1. It can be remembered that Janowicz had a momentary meltdown in his earlier match at the Melbourne Park that has garnered media attention.
Up next for Almagro is Serbia’s Janko Tipsarevic who defeated 32nd seed Julien Benneteau of France 3-6, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 in three hours and 20 minutes.
