Rafael Nadal to play in Brazil Open by February 2013

Fans of tennis superstar Rafael Nadal are surely rejoicing right now after the 11-time Grand Slam champion has confirmed that he will be back in tennis competitions in early February 2013, a couple of weeks earlier than anticipated.

New York Times’ Christopher Clarey confirmed this development.

Nadal will be participating at the Brasil Open 2013 tournament in Sao Paulo in February.

The former top-ranked player was supposed to make a comeback by late December 2012 via an exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi but a stomach virus prevented him from doing so, leading the Mallorcan to skip tournaments in Doha, Qatar and the Australian Open 2013.

Nadal was scheduled to return at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco, Mexico on February 25 but it seemed like his training is going really well that he opted to adjust his schedule.
