Tipsarevic captures Chennai Open crown

Second-seeded Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia won the ATP 250 Aircel Chennai Open 2013 title on Sunday after beating unseeded Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain 3-6, 6-1, 6-3. This is his fourth career title. He received $69,500 plus 250 ranking points. Meanwhile, Bautista Agut received $36,650 plus 150 ranking points.

“I was mentally stable and was not worried when I was one set down,” Tipsarevic, who has participated in this tournament six times, said.

“I didn’t play my best tennis in every match this week, but I am happy to win the title. I really wanted to win this tournament as it is my sixth time here,” he added.

Tipsarevic was a runner-up in this event last year, having lost the match to Canada’s Milos Raonic.
