Venus Williams prefers designing over commentating after tennis career

Seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams said that she doesn’t see herself becoming a tennis commentator after she retires from the sport, saying that she prefers designing than staying in a booth and doing commentary on tennis matches.

“When you’re a young person, you just don’t think it’s ever going to end and you’re on top of the world,” she said.

“I realize one day it will end. … When it’s over, I will be out and hopefully, like I said, I won’t run out of money and have to commentate. But if I do, I will be commentating,” she added.

The 32-year old tennis superstar is currently participating at the 2013 Australian Open where she just won her first round match against Galina Voskoboeva with an impressive 6-1, 6-0 score.

“But I’d like to move on from tennis. I love designing. I put my foot in that door already, and probably helping players on the side,” Williams said.
