Williams sisters advances to Australian Open 2013 doubles second round

The intense heat in Melbourne did not bother Venus and Serena Williams as they easily breezed through their first round doubles match at the Australian Open 2013 tournament. The 13-time Grand Slam doubles titlists defeated Camila Giorgi and Stefanie Voegele 6-3, 6-1 in a little over an hour.

Serena Williams completed her second round singles match against Garbine Muguruza of Spain earlier which she handily won in straight sets.

Aside from accumulating 13 Grand Slam doubles titles, the Williams sisters also won three Olympic gold medals in doubles.

Up next for the sisters are Vera Dushevina of Russia and Olga Govortsova of Belarus.
