Jelena Jankovic ends title drought in Bogota

Former world number one Jelena Jankovic ended an almost three-year drought in title wins on Sunday after sealing the Copa Claro Colsanitas title. The Serb earned her 13th career WTA title with a victory over first-time finalist Paula Ormaechea of Argentina 6-1, 6-2.

“I had a wonderful week here. It’s been an amazing experience. I’m so happy I was able to come here to Bogotá for the first time and winning my 13th WTA title here makes the experience even better,” Jankovic said.

Jankovic’s last title was at the 2010 Indian Wells. Since then she has lost five WTA finals.
