Novak Djokovic advances to Dubai Tennis Championships final, beats Del Potro

World number one Novak Djokovic won his 17th consecutive match on Friday and earned his way back to the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships final where his gunning for his fourth title at this Middle Eastern city.

This is Djokovic’s 55th ATP World Tour final and he’s aiming for his 36th career title. The obstacle left is Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic who saved three match points en route to his semifinal victory against Roger Federer.

“I was very pleased with the performance overall and the way I handled myself in the tough moments,” said Djokovic. “Mentally I stayed tough and believed that I could go all the way and win in straight sets. didn’t really allow myself to be negative. I have been very, very positive and confident, so I think that resulted with overall a really good performance.”
