Novak Djokovic aims for fortune reversal at Rome Masters after early Madrid loss

World number one Novak Djokovic is now in Rome, Italy to prepare for the Rome Masters 2013 tournament which begins next week. The Serb is at the Italian city earlier than the others due to his surprise second round loss at the Madrid Masters 2013 which is currently ongoing this week.

Despite the loss and having had to endure an injury scare at his match against Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, Djokovic said that he did not regret the decision to take part at Madrid Masters.

“I thought it was the right decision because, luckily for me, nothing really happened when I twisted the ankle during the match,” he said. “It was a slight moment. I had good protection on my ankle. So right now that is the only positive thing that I look into, is that I didn’t injure my ankle worse before Rome and Paris.”

Djokovic finished runner-up last year at the Rome Masters, losing to Rafael Nadal.
