Roger Federer reaches third Rome Masters final, sets up match with rival Nadal

World number three Roger Federer will be facing his rival Rafael Nadal for the 30th time at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia Rome Masters 2013 final on Sunday after the Swiss star ended the amazing run of France’s Benoit Paire in the semifinals. Federer managed to win the first set tiebreaker at the right time and cruised all the way to a 7-6, 6-4 victory.

Federer trails in the overall head to head series with Nadal at 10-19, 14 of those matches were on clay with Federer trailing 2-12.

As for Nadal, a trip at the final continues his amazing streak this season with eight final appearances out of eight tournaments participated. Nadal has won five out of seven tournaments so far this season and is gunning for his seventh Rome Masters title.
