Canadian teen eliminates Ivanovic out of Wimbledon

Eugenie Bouchard, ranked 66th in the world and is of 19 years of age, produced an impressive victory on Wednesday when she eliminated 12th-seed and former top-ranked Ana Ivanovic of Serbia at the Wimbledon 2013 Championships 6-3, 6-3. This earned the Canadian a spot in the third round.

Bouchard was the winner of the girls’ title at the All England Club in 2012 which means that she’s still keeping the winning streak alive. This is just her second Grand Slam tournament and she’s been steadily climbing up the rankings on the WTA Tour.

The Bouchard – Ivanovic match was suddenly moved at the Centre Court on Wednesday after second seed Victoria Azarenka withdrew from her scheduled second round match due to a knee injury.
