World number five David Ferrer reached his first Grand Slam final out of 42 Major appearances and this was made possible with his straight sets victory over hometown bet Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-1, 7-6, 6-2. Up next for Ferrer is seven-time Roland Garros champion Rafael Nadal with the latter narrowly beating top-ranked Novak Djokovic in five sets.
