Wimbledon 2011 Champion Petra Kvitova is allegedly the reason why married couple Radek Stepanek and former world number seven Nicole Vaidisova are divorcing but the world number eight has chosen not to speak her side about it.
“I am aware of the rumors, but prefer not to talk about my private life,” Kvitova said in statement.
“Wimbledon is the most important tournament of the year for me and I would like to play my best tennis and focus only on winning matches. Therefore will you please try to respect my wish not to comment on my private life during the tournament,” she added.
According to reports, Stepanek and Vaidisova are seeking divorce after three years of marriage. Kvitova has also ended the relationship with her younger boyfriend, 18-year old Adam Pavlasek.
Vaidisova has quit professional tennis at the age of 21 (in March 2010) after losing motivation to compete. She’s reached as high as number seven in the world and has reached semifinals of the 2006 Roland Garros and 2007 Australian Open.
Radek Stepanek was once engaged to former top-ranked Martina Hingis.
