Czech ATP player Radek Stepanek and wife, former world number seven Nicole Vaidisova are reportedly seeking divorce after three years of marriage. According to a report from Tennis.com, Czech David Cup Team spokesperson Karel Tejkal confirmed that the couple have already separated.
Vaidisova retired at the WTA Tour in March 2010 at the age of 21, stating that she no longer has the drive to compete. She reached a career high number seven and has reached the semifinals of the 2006 French Open and 2007 Australian Open.
Stepanek, now 34 years of age, is still active in the ATP Tour. He has reached a career-high ranking of number 8 in 2006. He has had high-profile relationships including being engaged before to former top-ranked Martina Hingis.
Reports have surfaced that Stepanek is currently dating 2011 Wimbledon titlist Petra Kvitova. Kvitova, currently ranked in the world’s top ten, has separated from her long-time boyfriend Adam Pavlasek, also a Czech tennis player.
