Rafael Nadal, Bryan brothers qualify for ATP World Tour Finals 2013

Spain’s Rafael Nadal and the Bryan brothers (Mike and Bob) have secured slots at the prestigious year-end Barclays ATP World Tour Finals 2013 after winning the Roland Garros 2013 singles and doubles titles respectively.

Nadal has qualified for the year-end event for nine consecutive years. His best finish was a runner-up finish in 2010 where he lost to six-time champion Roger Federer in the final. The Spaniard missed last year’s event since he was sidelined for seven months due to a left knee injury.

Nadal made a splash since his comeback in February, appearance in the final of all nine tournaments he has participated, winning seven of them including a history-setting eighth French Open title on Sunday. He leads the pack in the Emirates ATP Race to London with 7,000 ranking points.

“Rafa has had an incredible comeback since returning to action on the ATP World Tour in February and is truly deserving of becoming the first singles player to qualify for the 2013 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. His qualification is fantastic news for tennis fans in the UK and we look forward to welcoming him back to The O2 in London in November,” said ATP World Tour Finals Tournament Director Andre Silva.

As for Bob and Mike Bryan, the duo qualified for the season-ending event for the 12th consecutive times, winning three titles in 2003, 2004 and 2009.
