Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal could clash at Wimbledon 2013 Quarterfinals

Seven-time titlist and defending champion Roger Federer will be facing a tough road at the Wimbledon 2013 Championships which begins on Monday, June 24 because he will have to potentially face almost all of the members of the “Big Four” on the way to the final starting with his long-time rival Rafael Nadal.

When the Wimbledon 2013 draw was released on Friday, one notable match was seen which is Federer could meet Nadal in the quarterfinals — the earliest meeting between the two in any Grand Slam event.

Also drawn in the same bottom half is world number two Andy Murray which the winner of the Federer vs Nadal clash could meet in the semifinal. The other semifinal could potentially feature top-ranked Novak Djokovic against number four David Ferrer.

Here are the other possible men’s quarterfinal matches at Wimbledon 2013 should the seedings hold: [1] Novak Djokovic vs [7] Tomas Berdych; [4] David Ferrer vs [8] Juan Martin Del Potro; [2] Andy Murry vs [6] Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

There were speculations that Nadal’s seeding can be upgraded to number four based on his achievements at Wimbledon. The All England Club can determine the seedings based on ATP Rankings plus achievements in grasscourt tournaments in the past two years. However, the officials stuck with the current rankings.
