The competitions at the Mercedes Cup 2013 in Stuttgart, Germany has officially begun on Monday, July 8. This ATP 250 event is being played on claycourts but will transition soon to grasscourts by 2015. This event has a total financial commitment of € 467,800.
Last year’s winner Janko Tipsarevic is not on the draw this year. The Serbian received a Mercedes-Benz SLK 350 BlueEFFICIENCY in diamond white metallic aside from the prize money. He reportedly gave the car to his wife.
Heading the field this year is Germany’s Tommy Haas who just came from a fourth round finish at Wimbledon.
