Murray strengthens chances to qualify for Barclays ATP World Tour Finals after Wimbledon victory

Though it is already a foregone conclusion that he’ll be a part of the elite eight-man Barclays ATP World Tour finals, Andy Murray currently has strengthened his chances to be part of this year-end event which will take place from November 4 to 11 at The O2 in London. Murray won the Wimbledon final on Sunday, a first for a British male player in 77 years, by defeating top-ranked Novak Djokovic.

Murray is now third in the calendar-year ATP Race to London with 5,160 points. The first one who qualified for the ATP World Tour Finals was Rafael Nadal with 7,010 points followed by Djokovic with 6,230 points.

Only the world’s Top 8 singles players and doubles teams will qualify for the ATP World Tour Finals.
