Serena Williams dominates Date-Krumm 6-2, 6-0 at Wimbledon

World number one Serena Williams asserted herself as the overwhelming favorite to win her sixth Wimbledon title with a commanding 6-2, 6-0 victory over 42-year old Japanese veteran Kimiko Date-Krumm.

The defending champion accumulated 8 aces and 11 return winners to beat her older opponent in just 61 minutes.

Despite the loss, Date-Krumm still has something to be proud of by reaching this far in the tournament. The former Wimbledon semifinalist became the oldest woman to reach the third round at Wimbledon in the Open Era.

Williams will next face 23rd-seed Sabine Lisicki of Germany in the fourth round.
