Wimbledon 2013: Djokovic cruises past Chardy in straight sets

World number one Novak Djokovic produced 38 winners and only three unforced errors to easily defeat 18th-seed Jeremy Chardy of France 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.

“Everything went my way,” Djokovic said. “I did everything I wanted to do.”

The 2011 Wimbledon champion will next face 13th-seed Tommy Haas of Germany after the latter beat Feliciano Lopez of Spain in four sets.

Djokovic’s chances of winning the title at the All England Club has increased following the early exits of perennial favorites – Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer but the Serbian top-ranked player is not about to become complacent about the presence of new faces in the final 16.
