The Federer vs Zemlja 2013 US Open Tennis Championships first round match was originally scheduled on Monday, August 26 but due to rain, the match was postponed and will now take place on Tuesday, August 27 and it will be on the third match scheduled on the day session at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Roger Federer, for the first time in more than a decade, is seeded below the top three. The Swiss star is seeded seventh at the US Open and is seemingly the underdog against the higher ranked players. However, the 17-time Grand Slam champion is still a major force to reckon with and should be able to make it the quarterfinals without much opposition. But he has to be wary of his opening round opponent – Grega Zemlja.
This will be the third Federer vs Zemlja match with Federer winning their past two meetings in straight sets. The most recent one was at the Rotterdam tournament earlier this year.
