World number one Serena Williams said that she’s no sure if she can participate at the doubles competition of the US Open 2013. The American will be entering the hardcourt Slam event in New York as the top seed and defending champion of the singles competition.
“I love playing doubles in Australia and Wimbledon, but the other two [majors] I don’t love to play doubles,” she said.
“I play but I don’t get as excited because the drive to get there is an hour and in Wimbledon and Australia it’s like five minutes. But I haven’t played doubles in long time and I’d love to get some doubles play under me belt, so I will talk to her about it,” she said, referring to her older sister Venus Williams.
