Thirteen-time Grand Slam doubles titlist Serena Williams and Venus Williams will compete at the US Open 2013 women’s doubles event, as confirmed by the apperance of their names at the doubles draw.
The sisters will face Silvia Soler-Espinosa and Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain in the opening round. The Williams sisters are in the same draw as top-seed and defending champions Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci of Italy where they could potentially meet in the third round.
Errani and Vinci will have a tough first round assignment, with the duo facing Daniela Hantuchova and returning player Martina Hingis.
