Venus Williams returns to tennis action in Toronto Rogers Cup

Seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams will return to tennis action at the Rogers Cup in Toronto, her first tournament since her first round loss at the Roland Garros tournament in May. The American faces a tough opponent in the opening round – Wimbledon 2013 semifinalist Kirsten Flipkens. If she makes it in the third round, she could potentially meet her younger sister – top-ranked Serena Williams.

Other players making a return on tour is former top twenty star Alisa Kleybanova of Russia. Kleybanova has been dealing with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in the past. This is her first WTA-level tournament in the past 17 months. She will face Canada’s Eugenie Bouchard in the opening round.
