The tournament has a total financial commitment of $ 2,369,000 with the singles champion getting a $426,000 check and the doubles winners stand to get $122,000.
The 2013 Toray Pan Pacific Open draw features world number one Serena Williams, who just won the US Open title a week ago for her 17th Grand Slam singles title. World number two and US Open 2013 runner-up Victoria Azarenka is also in the draw. A slew of top ten players have also committed to participate in the event such as Agnieszka Radwanska, Sara Errani, Angelique Kerber, Petra Kvitova and Caroline Wozniacki. Russian world number three Maria Sharapova withdrew due to ongoing rehabilitation of her right shoulder.
