Agnieszka Radwanska admires Date-Krumm’s longevity on tour, fitness

World number four Agnieszka Radwanska admires the fitnes of 42-year old Kimiko Date-Krumm who’s still an active player at the WTA Tour. The Polish tennis star hopes that she’ll still be competing by the time the 2020 Olympic Games is staged in Tokyo, the site of the ongoing Toray Pan Pacific Open.

Radwanska advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia. The possibility of competing at the Olympics by 2020 is still a viable possibility for Radwanska, who will be 31 years of age by then.

“The question is if I will play. Hopefully, if I can stay fit like [the 42-year-old Kimiko Date-Krumm] for example,” Radwanska said in an interview with Kyoto News. “I wish to be that fit at that age. So, hopefully I will see you in 2020.

Radwanska will face fifth-seeded Angelique Kerber of Germany in the quarterfinals on Thursday, September 26.
